Physical activity to improve wellbeing and promote healthy ageing among older adults:
Randomized controlled Trial

Primary Outcome

Primary Outcome

Wellbeing:

The primary outcome variable will be measured using Life Satisfaction Index (LSI) which is a self-administered questionnaire that aims to evaluate wellbeing and successful aging with five core components; zest, resolution and fortitude, congruence between desired and achieved goals, positive self-concept and mood tone. A short version of LSI has been developed (LSI-Z) and contains 13 items. Items are scored on a three-point scale; satisfied=2, uncertain=1, unsatisfied=0, where higher scores indicate greater life satisfaction. Low life satisfaction will be regarded as a score of eleven or less, using the 25th percentile. Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) will moreover be used. It is an extensively used five-item scale measuring global cognitive judgments of one’s life satisfaction. Participants indicate how much they agree or disagree with each of the items using a seven-point scale ranging from seven (strongly agree) to one (strongly disagree).
